25 Sep 97 - Millennium bomb: London stalling

While preparations are in full swing for the millennium celebrations in Greenwich, little is being done in London to plan for the very real possibility that chaos could ensue as a result of the year 2000 problem. The study by Corporation 2000 of London's infrastructure, which took 16 man-months to compile, represents the first attempt to consider how the impact of the millennium on the capital's infrastructure will affect social and business life in the early days of the new millennium.
